July 20th - Stiperstones Nature Reserve from The Bog visitor centre
From Church Stretton head west up the Burway. After about 5 miles near Ratlinghope turn left, then right towards Bridges. There may be a sign here to the Bog centre but if not turn left then quickly right to head northwest uphill. Drive past the Stiperstones reserve car park on the right then head downhill with a final sharp left before the car park. (3 miles from Bridges approx.) Alternatively (to avoid the narrow and vertiginous road from Church Stretton!) approach via the A488, turn right at Black Marsh and drive through Shelve and Pennerley, turning right at the T-junction to reach the visitor centre from the other direction.
We are invited to eat our picnic lunches in the Bog visitor centre cafe provided we buy something there: tea, coffee and possibly one of their delicious cakes!
